Assala Nasri has postponed an upcoming concert in her homeland Syria due to the ongoing U.S.-Israel-Iran war which has spilled out into the entire Gulf region and beyond.
The gig was set to be held as part of the “Revolution” celebration on March 18, reuniting Assala with her fans in her homeland after a 14-year absence. She presented her last concert in the country in 2011.
No new date has been announced.
The DFI announcement follows in the wake of the launch of the U.S. and Israel military campaign against Iran on February 28.
At least 1,332 Iranian civilians have been killed and thousands wounded so far in the conflict.
Scores have also been killed in Israeli attacks on Lebanon to root out the Iran-backed group Hezbollah, which has fired into Israel in solidarity with Iran.
Iranian strikes on Israel have killed 11 people. Iran has struck U.S. military bases and diplomatic missions in Arab Gulf states but also hit hotels, closed airports, and damaged oil infrastructure.
