Born on May 15, 1969, Assala Mostafa Hatem Nasri, known as Assala, is one of the best female singers in the Middle East.

She made her music debut with the 1991 album “Law Ta’rafou”.

The album featured four songs in the oriental operatic tarab style and was an instant hit with heartbreaking songs like “Ya Sabra Yana” and “Samehtak Ketir”.

Nasri quickly proved her presence in a growing industry brimming with new, young talent such as Saber Rebai, Angham, and Abdelmajeed Abdullah.

Since then, more than 30 albums have marked a career characterized by masterpieces blending classical tarab, modern pop, and Khaliji music.
