Syrian superstar Assala Nasri is set to conclude the 31st edition of the Arab Music Festival and Conference.

The event is held at the Cairo Opera House's Nafoura Theater, on Thursday, November 3.

She is set to present several of her popular and latest songs.

The festival kicked off on October 20 and will run for 15 days hosting 40 concerts performed by nearly 100 artists from various Arab countries performing at the Cairo, Alexandria, and Damanhour Opera Houses as well as Cairo’s Arab Music Institute and Gomhoreya Theatre.

The superstar is one of the best female singers in the Middle East. She was born in Damascus to a middle-class couple, her father Moustafa Nasry, was a well-known Syrian composer and singer.

She began her musical career by performing patriotic, religious, and children’s songs when she was four years old.

Nasri made her music debut with the 1991 album “Law Ta’rafou”. The album featured four songs in the oriental operatic tarab style.

It was an instant hit with heartbreaking songs like “Ya Sabra Yana” and “Samehtak Ketir”.

She quickly proved her presence in a growing industry brimming with new, young talent such as Saber Rebai, Angham, and Abdelmajeed Abdullah.
