Ramez Galal is being sued after an episode of his prank show “Ramez Level El Wahsh” ruffled one of its subject's feathers.
Asmaa Galal said that she will file a lawsuit against Ramez Galal for the mockery and offensive comments he made in the introduction to her episode of his show.
Lawyer Nehad Abol Kosman, representing Asmaa Galal, has initiated legal proceedings against the program following the airing of the actress's episode and its inclusion of "offensive and degrading remarks."
A statement issued by the Seada and Abol Kosman law office, Asmaa Galal representative, said that the actress and her legal representative have been monitoring the content of her episode on an entertainment program, as well as the widespread circulation of the episode on social media platforms in the aftermath.
It explained that the actress participated in the filming under the assumption that it was a typical surprise entertainment program, without being shown or informed beforehand about any content, including the voiceover (introductory) added during the editing process.
The statement indicated that this introductory segment contained offensive language, bullying, and inappropriate innuendos that violated the actress’ dignity and were completely unrelated to the concept of the prank or the production itself.
The legal team emphasized that what was mentioned in the introduction of the episode, along with some actions and comments made by the program's host, goes beyond the bounds of acceptable humor or artistic criticism and falls within the scope of moral harm and abuse, especially when it concerns the human body or personal attributes that have no relation to the entertainment content.
The statement affirmed that participating in any artistic or entertainment work does not, under any circumstances, mean accepting to be insulted or to be made the subject of personal ridicule.
The Seada and Abol Kosman office has begun taking the necessary legal measures to review whether the content of the episode violates the provisions of the Penal Code and media regulations.
The team added that Asmaa Galal reserves all her legal and moral rights against anyone who participated in publishing or republishing content that includes abuse, bullying, or unacceptable innuendo against her.
The statement concluded by emphasizing that the actress’ initial silence was out of respect for the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, but that human dignity remains a red line that cannot be crossed under any entertainment pretext.
Asmaa Galal also expressed her gratitude to everyone who expressed their support and understanding, expressing her hope that the artistic space will remain based on mutual respect and not at the expense of anyone's feelings or body.
