Arnold Schwarzenegger and Liam Hemsworth will star in "The Kellys," an action flick that Amazon MGM Studios has picked up for streaming on Prime Video.
Hailing from director Brad Peyton and Thunder Road Films, the film follows Jack Kelly, a disgraced NYC cop whose wife, Molly, is taken hostage by terrorists inside an old armory building. Subsequently, he’ll have to join forces with the people he fears most to save her: His family.
Known for Netflix’s chart-topper "Atlas" starring Jennifer Lopez, plus Dwayne Johnson starrers like "Rampage" and San Andreas, Peyton teamed with Tze Chun (Gotham, Once Upon a Time) to write the script. Principal photography is currently underway.
The project also reunites Schwarzenegger and Hemsworth after previously working together on 2012’s "The Expendables 2".
It also witnesses Schwarzenegger teaming up with Amazon MGM after taking on the role of Santa in their forthcoming Christmas film "The Man with the Bag," directed by Adam Shankman.
Among the action hero and former California governor’s other upcoming projects is a new King Conan movie in development at 20th from the "Mission: Impossible" franchise’s Christopher McQuarrie.
Most recently, Hemsworth has been seen starring in Netflix’s "The Witcher" — taking over Henry Cavill’s starring role of "Geralt of Rivia" — plus Susannah Grant’s romantic drama "Lonely Planet" for the streamer.
CAA Media Finance brokered the deal with Amazon MGM.
