Armenian Announces 4 Journalists Injured in Karabakh

The Armenian authorities announced that at least four news reporters were injured from the Azerbaijan army forces in the Karabakh area. Two of the injured reporters are French from the “Le Monde” newspaper.

The Armenian government confirmed on its official twitter account that the accident happened in the Martony town and that the French reporters were transferred to the local hospital.

It also confirmed that the two other reporters are from the “Armenia” channel and the “24News” website, adding that the attack also reached a van that was transporting some “France-Presse” reporters.

One of the “Le Monde” reporters is in critical condition and is currently undergoing surgery in the Khankendi medical center.

The Russian “Doged” channel’s editor and reporter Dmitry Yelovsky announced his presence during the attack and how he thankfully survived by hiding in a house’s basement with the rest of the reporters.

The channel also confirmed that the reporters reached the Martony town in different vans to document the damage done by the Azerbaijani forces in the last few days. The reporters included Lebanese reporters and some VII Photo Agency, representatives.

The Russian reporter confirmed that some citizens were also caught in the Azerbaijani attack.

Some unofficial sources announced that the local citizen escorting the reporters died during the attack and that the van’s driver was also injured.

From its side, the journalists' support committee condemned the attack on the reporters.
