US President Donald Trump admitted that he, that he’s “often” had regrets about his tweets, acknowledging that his use of the social media platform can be "impulsive."

In an interview, Trump said it’s not like the old days when people wrote a letter and let it sit for a day before sending it, giving them time to reconsider.

“But we don’t do that with Twitter, right?” Trump said. “We put it out instantaneously, we feel great, and then you start getting phone calls, ‘Did you really say this?’”

Trump said that more often than not, “it’s the retweets that get you in trouble.”

He added, “You see something that looks good and you don’t investigate.”

The US President said that the problem is not related to his own statements, but rather the 'retweets' he makes.

On the other hand, Trump recalled what he described 'crime of the political era', in reference to the rumors that the administration of the former President, Barack Obama, was spying on his campaign.

Two days ago, Joe Biden accused President Trump of “deliberately piding people” when he was joined for the first time in a socially distanced campaign video by Barack Obama, who avoided direct criticism of his successor.

Mr Biden, 77, said that Mr Trump lacked empathy and “can’t relate in any way” because he refused to accept responsibility for mistakes in handling the pandemic. On Wednesday Mr Biden said Mr Trump, 74, was the first racist president.
