Armenia will celebrate International Dance Day with a large-scale public event in the capital, bringing together thousands of performers to promote traditional dance and cultural heritage, according to the Armenian National Committee of Egypt.

The initiative, titled “Let’s Dance!”, will be hosted by the National Center for Armenian Folk Music and Dance at Freedom Square, featuring a festive program aimed at engaging the public and highlighting Armenian dance as a living expression of cultural identity and creativity.

The event, held under the patronage of Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, is expected to draw around 4,000 dancers, making it one of the country’s largest cultural gatherings this year, the committee said.

The program seeks to broaden public participation in traditional dance and encourage wider appreciation of Armenia’s folk heritage by inviting attendees to actively take part.

Celebrations will conclude at 1900 local time with an open dance lesson and a mass group performance led by the Karin Traditional Song and Dance Ensemble, alongside its affiliated groups.

It's worth mentioning that members of the public are invited to join the open program, turning the central square into a shared cultural space and reinforcing dance’s role as a tool for community engagement and artistic expression.

International Dance Day is observed worldwide each year to underscore the importance of dance in preserving cultural identity and fostering creativity across societies.
