Yerevan hosted leaders from across the continent this week for the eighth summit of the European Political Community, aimed at strengthening political coordination and addressing mounting geopolitical challenges in Europe.
The meeting, held under the theme “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe,” brought together heads of state and government to discuss enhancing multilateral cooperation, reinforcing democratic resilience and improving regional connectivity, as well as advancing energy security and economic stability amid global crises.
The summit is co-chaired by Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, with participation from 48 European countries.
In a first for the forum, Justin Trudeau attended as a special guest, marking the first involvement of a non-European leader in the initiative.
The agenda includes an opening plenary session followed by informal working meetings and bilateral and multilateral talks, before concluding with a closing session and a joint press conference outlining key outcomes, according to Armenian National Committee of Cairo.
The gathering comes as European nations seek to deepen dialogue and coordination to tackle shared challenges, particularly in energy, economic resilience and regional security.
The summit follows a first-ever meeting between the European Union and Armenia, highlighting growing ties between the two sides and their role in supporting regional stability.
