Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Malki, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the Arab League, participated in the “Arab-Swiss Business Forum – Trader 2026” held in Geneva on Monday. The event was organized by the Arab-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry and brought together high-level government officials, decision-makers, private sector representatives, and international organizations from both the Arab world and Switzerland. Oman attended as this year’s guest of honor.
The forum provided a key platform to discuss ways to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the Arab world and Switzerland. Participants explored major global economic shifts and labor market trends, including skills development, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, the creative economy, and aligning education and training outcomes with modern market needs.
During the sessions, Al-Malki highlighted the importance of adapting labor markets and human capital to technological and economic changes. He stressed the need to embrace digitalization, artificial intelligence, and the creative economy while linking educational outcomes to market demands.
The forum featured specialized panels and high-level discussions with ministers, experts, and representatives of economic and international institutions, focusing on strategies to enhance economic and investment cooperation and anticipate the future of work amid rapid technological and economic transformations.
