Arab League Condemns Houthi Attack on Saudi Oil Tanker, Calls for Protecting Maritime Security

 The Arab League on Thursday strongly condemned what it described as Houthi attacks on a Saudi oil tanker in the Red Sea and Iranian attacks targeting Gulf states and Jordan, calling the incidents violations of international law and serious threats to regional stability and freedom of navigation.

In a statement, the League's spokesperson welcomed the Gulf Cooperation Council's position condemning the attacks, saying Arab countries stand united against threats to their security and the safety of key maritime routes.

The Arab League called on the Houthi group to immediately halt all actions that endanger international shipping and urged Iran to cease what it described as destabilizing activities and return to negotiations as the only path toward a comprehensive and sustainable resolution of regional tensions.

The League warned that continued escalation would further undermine security, destabilize the region, and jeopardize navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.
