Ukrainian Ambassador to Egypt Mykola Nahornyi met newly appointed Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy on 22 July 2026 to discuss cooperation and regional security developments.
The two sides reviewed current areas of cooperation and ways to strengthen dialogue between Ukraine and the League of Arab States.
Their discussions addressed Russia’s continuing military operations against Ukraine and the security situation in the Middle East.
Nahornyi stressed the importance of international support for efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine based on the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
He also called on the Arab League to contribute to international efforts aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement.
The meeting reflected Ukraine’s efforts to expand communication with Arab institutions and strengthen cooperation on political and security issues of mutual concern.
