The Arab Children’s Literature Award, organized by the UAE Board on Books for Young People, is showcasing its winning publications at the 57th Cairo International Book Fair, which runs through Feb. 3.
The award’s pavilion drew strong official and cultural attention, welcoming UAE Minister of Culture Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi and Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hanno, highlighting the growing prominence of children’s literature on the Arab cultural agenda.
With publishers from 83 countries participating in the fair, the award is using the platform to connect with writers, illustrators and publishers, explore cooperation opportunities, and promote reading culture. Visitors can view titles that won the award’s 17th edition, as well as shortlisted works.
Marwa Al Aqroubi, president of the UAE Board on Books for Young People, said the Cairo fair offers a vital platform to promote the award’s mission of supporting high-quality Arabic children’s literature and nurturing future generations of readers.
