Paramount+ has unveiled the official trailer for "Apartment 7A", the psychological thriller prequel to Roman Polanski’s 1968 horror classic “Rosemary’s Baby," starring “Inventing Anna” and “Ozark” star Julia Garner.
The pic takes place before the events of the legendary horror classic and explores what happened in the infamous Bramford building before Rosemary moved in.
Set in 1965 New York City, "Apartment 7A" follows an ambitious young dancer, Terry Gionoffrio (Garner) dreams of fame and fortune in New York City, but after suffering a devastating injury, an older, wealthy couple (Dianne Wiest and Kevin McNally) welcomes her into their home in the luxury apartment building the Bramford. When a fellow resident and influential Broadway producer (Jim Sturgess) offers her another chance at fame, it seems that all her dreams are finally coming true.
However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A but in Bramford itself.
The cast is rounded out by Dianne Wiest (“Mayor of Kingstown”), Jim Sturgess (“Across the Universe”), and Kevin McNally (the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series). Supporting cast members include Marli Siu (“Everything I Know About Love”), Andrew Buchan (“All the Money in the World”), Rosy McEwen (“Blue Jean”), and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (“Wonka”).
Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes starred in “Rosemary’s Baby” as a young couple trying to start a family, but are tormented by their strange neighbors. Paramount produced the original movie.
A Paramount+ original movie in association with Paramount Pictures, "Apartment 7A" is a Platinum Dunes / Sunday Night Production.
Natalie Erika James (Relic) directed the pic from her script written with Christian White and Skylar James, which is based on a screen story by James, as well as Ira Levin’s classic novel "Rosemary’s Baby".
John Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller produced, with Vicki Dee Rock and Alexa Ginsburg serving as executive producers for the film.
"Apartment 7A" will premiere on Paramount+ on September 27, ahead of the Halloween season.
