Antonio Banderas, Susan Sarandon, Rosario Dawson, and Scott Eastwood are set to star in the 308 Entertainment’s supernatural thriller "Unmerciful Good Fortune". The project is in pre-production.
Written and directed by Tirsa Hackshaw, "Unmerciful Good Fortune" is based on Edwin Sánchez’s stage play and centers on Maritza Cruz, a high-end celebrity attorney pulled into a headline-making case involving a young woman accused of multiple murders — only for the defendant to claim she possesses psychic abilities and kills to prevent worse fates, plunging Maritza into a moral and spiritual labyrinth.
The project features Dawson as Maritza Cruz, Banderas takes on the role of Pito Cruz, Eastwood plays Paul Leslie, and Sarandon is Dr. Irene Charles.
Producers are Tom DeSanto, Corey Large, Rosario Dawson, Brian Kirchoff, and Jordan Wilson.
Playhouse Group is financing the project with Lorcan Kavanagh leading and Gordon Bijelonic executive producing. EPs also include Tim Marlowe and Jordan Nott.
Banderas most recently starred in "Babygirl," "Paddington in Peru" and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny".
The actor who came to fame in Pedro Almodóvar’s canon received a Best Actor Oscar nomination for 2020’s "Pain and Glory".
