Antiquities Ministry Organizes Touristic Voyages

The Egyptian General Authority office for Tourism in Port Said organized an archaeological tour.

The tour included visiting the most important tourist and archaeological sites in the city, like the St. Eugeni Church, which is the oldest church of the Catholic doctrine in Port Said and ancient Port Said Lighthouse.

It was considered one of the most important architectural and tourist landmarks in Port Said. It reflects a unique example for the evolution of architecture during the 19th century in the city.

The tour aims to raise the tourist and archeological awareness of citizens and introducing the civilizational and cultural Egypt's heritage, to contribute in stimulating the movement of domestic tourism.

Meanwhile, the General Authority office in Matrouh Governorate organized a touristic trip to the Matrouh Archeology Museum. It also organized a competition for visitors and distributed some prizes and souvenirs in addition tourist flyers.

Mrs. Iman Mahmoud, the internal tourism sector head, explained that a series of these awareness tours in a number of governorates were organized through the authority internal offices in cooperation with many governmental and private institutions.
