The Tourism and Antiquities Ministry denied on Monday reports about holding the Royal Mummies' Parade on Friday (December 4).
In a statement, the ministry described such news as baseless, saying the date of the procession has not been set yet.
The ministry pointed out that it would inform the local and foreign media outlets here before the date early enough to promote the coming great event.
About 22 royal mummies will be transferred from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fostat district, Cairo, in a parade befitting the Pharaonic kings.
The 22 royal mummies include 18 mummies for kings, and four mummies for queens, including the mummy of King Ramses II, King Sqnin Ra, King Thutmose III, King Seti I, Queen Hatshepsut, and King Meritamun, wife of King Amenhotep I, and Queen Ahmose-Nefertari, the wife of King Ahmose.
