Ahmed Eissa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities received Michele Quaroni, Ambassador of Italy in Cairo to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and antiquities, and mechanisms to push more tourism from Italy to Egypt.
The minister referred to the results of his recent visit to Rome, during which he held a number of meetings to discuss ways to push more incoming tourist traffic to Egypt from the Italian market and to listen to the proposals of partners in Italy in this regard.
Issa pointed to the importance of the Italian market, as it is considered one of the important tourist markets that export tourism to Egypt, pointing to the latest developments in the tourism movement coming from it to Egypt during the past months.
Proposals were also discussed to promote tourism in the Italian market during the coming period.
They also discussed a proposal to organize a number of local and international promotional events in Egypt in various tourist and archaeological sites to attract tourists to Egypt.
It is worth noting that in June, Wizz Air's first regular flight, arriving from Malpensa Airport in Milan, Italy, landed at Sphinx International Airport.
