The gate of Ptolemy III linking the temple of Khonsu to El Kebash road was also renovated.

Noteworthy, "Khonsu" is the moon god in the ancient Egyptian religion, He is the son of Amun and Mut in the Theban triad.
The Temple of Khonsu in Karnak is a distinctive one, it represents an example of the ancient Egyptian temple. King "Ramses III" started building it then his son, "Ramses IV" and "Ramses XI"resumed the construction work, and finally "Herihor" the priest who became the last king of the Twentieth Dynasty, completed the construction work.
Dr. Mostafa Waziri, head the ministry's Supreme Council of Antiquities, described the restoration project of the two tombs and Khonsu Temple as another example among many ones of cooperation between Egypt and the United States of America.
