Antiquities Minister Khaled el Enani visited on Saturday the building of new Hurghada Museum in the Red Sea governorate to check progress of construction and development works.
The Red Sea governorate detailed in a statement that the the visit aims to set a date to inaugurate the museum.
Anani toured the museum's halls and checked all security systems, including CCTV cameras, firefighting and alarming systems.
The minister directed officials to speed up completion of works needed to open the museum, in the presence of Foreign Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
Hurghada Governor Atef Wagdi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri and a host of executive and security leaderships in the governorate were present during the visit.
Waziri said that the museum is set to open by the end of December.
