Antiquities Min. Launches Campaign to Maintain Egyptian Statues

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities began a campaign of cleaning and maintenance of all statues installed in main squares in all Egyptian governorates.

Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, has directed to kick off this campaign and put it and under the direct supervision of Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.

This campaign came within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to adequately display statues of thinkers and Egyptian leaders in the squares to upgrade them to the civilized level.

Aswan was the first governorate in which the campaign started, as on Saturday, a specialized team from the restorers of the Aswan antiquities zone began cleaning and maintaining some statues, and the work team will finish the maintenance and cleaning work of all statues, respectively.
