Antiquities, Housing Min. Ink Protocol to Develop Sakkara Tourist Area

Dr Khalid Al Enani, Minister of Antiquities and Dr Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Public Utilities and New Urban Communities have signed a protocol of cooperation to develop Sakkara area in Giza Governorate and serve the visitors and tourists there.

The signing was attended by Maj. Gen. Atef Muftah, Supervisor of the Egyptian Grand Museum ( EGM) and the surrounding area and Dr Mustafa Waziri, General Secretary of the Higher Council of Antiquities.

Minister of Antiquities explained that the signing that protocol comes within furtive cooperation between ministries of Antiquities and Housing to keep the archaeological and civil heritage of Egypt and develop services at the area to activate tourism there.

This protocol came after the Permanent Committee of Antiquities approved a study to develop services at Sakkara to blend with the panorama of the archaeological area.

The project of development will be carries out supervision of management of the archaeological area and Projects Sector of the Ministry of Antiquities.

Minister of Housing pointed out that Authority of New Urban Communities will fund the project to develop Sakkara. It will prepare the blue prints and the documents to upgrade the area of Sakkara.
