Warner Bros. Pictures and Bad Robot revealed Friday "Flowervale Street" as the title of David Robert Mitchell‘s new movie. It opens in IMAX on May 16, 2025. Currently, only M3GAN 2.0 is scheduled for that weekend.
Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery will star in the pic.
While logline details are being kept under wraps, it’s previously been described as a family adventure set in the 1980s “thrill-ride” shot on an IMAX involving dinosaurs, with Hathaway and McGregor playing the parents.
Mitchell directs from his original script and is producing alongside J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella of Bad Robot, Jackson Pictures’ Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper.
Jake Weiner and Chris Bender of Good Fear Content will serve as exec producers, with Sheila Walcott and Zach Hamby overseeing the project for Warners.
Mitchell broke out as the writer, director, and producer of the horror thriller "It Follows", starring Maika Monroe.
It was nominated for the Critics’ Week Grand Prize in its launch at the Cannes Film Festival and garnered three Independent Spirit Award nominations, grossing over 17x its budget.
He followed his 2014 breakout project up with the Andrew Garfield-led "Under the Silver Lake", on which Good Fear’s Weiner and Bender served as producers.
The multihyphenate’s first feature was "The Myth of the American Sleepover", an indie darling that debuted at SXSW in 2010.
Last fall, it was announced that Mitchell and Monroe would be reuniting on an "It Follows" sequel, titled "They Follow," as Neon launched sales at AFM.
