On Wednesday, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Khaled El-Anani has landed in the Polish capital, Warsaw, for a short visit to stimulate tourism between the two countries and undertake discussions on ways to enhance tourism sector cooperation.
The visit came as part of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ plan to promote Egypt’s tourism sector.
During his visit, the Egyptian minister held talks with the chairperson of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, representatives of travel agents and media personnel to discuss ways of boosting cooperation in the tourism field.
The meeting tackled proposals meant to lure more Polish tourists to Egypt in light of the African country's distinguishing tourism status.
The talks were also attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Badr Abdel Atai as well as Egypt's Ambassador to Poland Hossam el Qawesh.
The minister asserted Egypt's keenness on maintaining the safety of all tourists and workers of the tourism.
He, also, reviewed Egypt's efforts to support the tourism sector after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in order to resume the tourism movement.
Notably, El-Anani has recently paid an official visit to the Czech capital where he opened the "Kings of the Sun" exhibition, the first of its kind to be held in the Czech Republic and the largest of the Old Kingdom antiquities.
El-Anani also reviewed the precautionary measures set by the ministry at all hotels, museums and all archaeological sites nationwide, expressing his hopes that the number of Polish tourists coming to Egypt would increase in the coming period.
