Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani inspected on Friday renovation works at Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue and the Graeco-Roman Museum in Alexandria.
Anani also followed up the work progress at the Royal Jewelry Museum and the Alexandria National Museum, according to a statement by the Antiquities Ministry.

All restoration works at the synagogue, due to open in January 2020, have been finalized, the statement added.
Around 60% of restoration works at the Graeco-Roman Museum have been completed. It is scheduled to be inaugurated at the end of 2020, the statement read.

The minister also visited the Royal Jewelry Museum and the Alexandria National Museum to follow up on the pace of work and quality of services offered to visitors, the statement noted.

The minister's tour around the two museums comes as part of efforts to stimulate the movement of cultural tourism and encourage Egyptian visitors, especially children, to visit regional museums, the statement said.

It is worth noting that the renovation works resumed again in February 2018 after its suspension in 2010, as the government pays great attention to preserve its artifacts and heritage whether they were pharaonic or Islamic or Coptic or Jewish.
