Khaled Al-Anani, Tourism and Antiquities Minister inaugurated on Sunday the first factory of archaeological reproductions in Egypt and the Middle East.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mostafa Waziri and a number of officials.
The minister said that the copies will include a bar code, and all replicas will be marked with the seal of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and certified as replicas, adding that the replicas will be provided to hotels and various tourist markets, and bazaars.
The factory will be able to provide products to all governorates, museums and markets in the near future, which will contribute to encouraging the Egyptian industry. It will also provide international museums with replicas due to the efficiency of the Egyptian workforce.
He added that an outlet will be opened on April 4 at the Civilization Museum, adding that these reproductions will be provided for hotels and bazaars at special prices.
