Minister of Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani participated in the celebration of the International Children's Day at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir in the presence of the Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Waly, and Italian Ambassador Giampaolo Cantini.

This comes within the framework of declaring 2019 as the year of education in Egypt, as well as enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Italy to help exchange experiences and build cultural and archaeological awareness for future generations.

It also highlights the keenness of the Ministry of Antiquities to educate children by raising their archaeological and cultural awareness about their heritage through cooperation with various foreign archaeological missions in educational projects.

The Italian archaeological mission asserted the importance of spreading culture, pointing out to its role in the formation and consolidation of human principles, considering that the more children are aware of the value of the archaeological and cultural heritage, the more they will be determined to preserve it.

The visit included an exhibition and an interactive educational workshop for children, including a tour of different cities in Egypt to learn about the different monuments and archaeological missions operating in different governorates.

At the end of the tour, Anani and Waly handed certificates of appreciation for the children and took commemorative photos with him. The children also sang a song inspired by the famous hymn of the god Aten, which dates back to around 1345 BC, composed by Shady Francis.

Finally, the Ministry devoted two books on Egypt's history to children, in cooperation with the Italian Archaeological Center and the Rovereto Museum.
