Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani witnessed on Wednesday said Baron Empain Palace will open for the public within two months.

Anani's remarks came during the signing a cooperation agreement with Belgium by Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr and the Belgian ambassador in Cairo.

"The Belgian side bore 15% of the total cost of the palace's renovation works worth EGP16 million," the minister noted, adding that the total cost reached EGP104 million.

He pointed out that the works are being finished according to the fixed time.

Egypt is now on its way of constructing the desert through the projects, being implemented on the ground to serve the citizens.

Nasr, during the signing ceremony, said that the Investment Ministry supports many archaeological projects nationwide.

She added that the Belgian contribution to this project comes within a program "debt swap" between the two countries to eliminate the external debt.
