Egyptian actress Amy Samir Ghanem and her husband and fellow actor Hassan El Raddad's new play "Television" is scheduled to make its debut this month, within the activities of Riyadh season, in Saudi Arabia.
The cast also includes Soleiman Eid, Badria Tolba, Mahmoud Hafez, Mohamed Osama, famously known as "Osos", and others.
"Television" hails from director Mohamed Al Sagheer and screenwriters Ahmed Saad Wali, Ibrahim Saber, and Mohamed Salah Khattab.
The play's official synopsis reads: "After Uncle Hozmbol arrives for the married couple Hefzi and Karawaneh carrying gifts for them that were delayed thirty years but are not suitable for them now, which makes their curiosity push them to search for Uncle Hozmbol's gift bag to find a magical television set. They find themselves inside it, moving between its channels with all their events and details, while a child controls them with a remote control... What is their fate, at what channel will their lives stop, and can they return to their lives again?."
"Television" is set to be staged at the Mohammed Al Ali Theater in Boulevard City, on Monday, November 20.
It is held as a part of the ongoing Riyadh Season 2023. The 4th edition of the Riyadh Season kicked off on October 28 under the slogan of "Big Time".
On the other hand, Ghanem is set to guest star in El Raddad's comedy film "Blomondo".
The cast also includes Hagar Ahmed, Mahmoud Hafez, Sama Ibrahim, Engy Wegdan, Mostafa Abo Sreaa, and others.
Filmmaker Yasser Samy directs the pic from a screenplay by Hazem and Mohamed Waifi.
The film discusses the suffering of young people after marriage and their desire to return once again to a life of celibacy.
"Blomondo" witnesses Ghanem's comeback to the big screen after 7 years of absence. She made her last appearance alongside El Raddad in the 2016 film "Ashan Khargen."
