Amr Youssef Sets 3-Year TV Comeback with "Al Fransawy"

Egyptian actor Amr Youssef has set a return to the TV world with the TV series "Al Fransawy" ("The French").

The series consists of 10 episodes and is set to debut on the "Yango Play" platform.

"Al Fransawy" marks Youssef's comeback to the small screen after a 3-year absence. He made his last appearance in the 2023 TV series "The 101 Battalion".

The cast also starred Asser Yassin, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Khaled El Sawy, Ahmed Salah Hosny, Wafaa Amer, and others.

"The 101 Battalion" consists of 30 episodes depicting the heroics of Battalion 101 and how they confronted the takfiri elements in Sinai.

The series hailed from scriptwriter Eyad Saleh and director Mohamed Salama. Synergy is the studio behind the project.

Over the past period, Youssef achieved extraordinary success, ranking him among the highest-grossing Egyptian stars of 2024 and 2025 with his films “Shaqo”, “Awlad Rizk 3”, “Darwish”, and “El Sellem Wel Teban: Leab Eyal”.

Youssef, born on December 23, 1980, began his career in entertainment with television commercials and music videos.

Thereafter, veteran actor Nour Al Sherif brought his talents to the TV series “Al Daly” in 2007. Following this crucial step forward, Youssef’s career took off.

Since then, he appeared in “Nour Ainy” (2010), “Rad Fa’al” (2011), and the popular 2013 Ramadan drama series “Niran Sadeeka” (Friendly Fire).

Youssef is known for his roles in the films “Hepta: The Last Lecture”, “Welad Rezk”, and “Rad Faal”.

He is also known for his roles in TV series such as “Grand Hotel”, “Zarf Aswad”, “Ad Tanazoly”, “Niran Sadeeka”, and “Al Moatn X”.
