The Minister confirmed that his next strategy will be based on two axes. The first is completing the files, most notably technological exports, which witnessed growth reaching $6.2 billion during the year 2023, up from $4.9 billion during the year 2022, with a growth rate of 26%.
He pointed out in press statements the expansion of the outsourcing sector, as technological exports in the outsourcing sector accounted for $3.7 billion of total exports, with a growth rate of 54% during the year 2023 compared to $2.3 billion in 2022, which represents a reflection of the ability of youth and the sector to attract International companies and providing job opportunities for young people in various specializations.
He also stressed the importance of expanding the skills base in the various spectrums of communications and information technology, as well as continuing the processes of digitizing government services after the number of digitized services reached 170, and continuing to improve and support the digital and infrastructure in both the fixed and mobile Internet parts.
The Minister pointed out that about $2.5 billion has been invested since 2018 to develop communications infrastructure throughout the Republic, based on the latest global technologies in this field, represented by fiber optic technology.
Regarding the second axis, the Minister stressed the move forward in the file of artificial intelligence, as a strategy was implemented 4 years ago and Egypt jumped about 50 places, and is entering the second next phase of the strategy to catch up with this technology, in addition to building systems that use modern technology to provide creative and innovative solutions. To meet the challenges we face while continuing to provide training programs for youth and children, such as the four training generations: “Digital Buds of Egypt,” “Digital Egypt Cubs,” “Digital Egypt Builders,” and “Digital Egypt Youth.”
