Egyptian actor Amr Abdul Gelil is the latest addition to the cast of actor Mohamed Emam's TV series "El King".
Hanan Motawie and Mirna Gamil are also attached to star in the series.
It hails from director Shereen Adel and scriptwriter Mohamed Salah El Azab.
"El King" is slated to screen in the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon.
It witnesses Emam's comeback to the drama marathon after two years of absence.
He made his last participation in the marathon with the 2024 TV series "Cobra".
Born on February 7, 1963, Abdul Gelil began his acting career in the 1986 play "El Bulldozer".
In 1990, he made his feature debut in the acclaimed director Youssef Chahin's movie "Alexandria Kman Wa Kaman" which is one of the most important roles of his life.
Despite his strong start, he booked small roles for a long time.
The turning point in his career was in 2007, when he starred in Youssef Chahine's last movie "Chaos", followed by Khaled Youssef's "Hena Maisara".
The next year, he collaborated with Youssef's for the second time in his 2009 movie "Dokan Shehata".
In 2010, he landed his first major role in a feature in the film "Kalemni Shokran," collaborating with Youssef for the third time.
