Amazon revealed Thursday the official trailer for the spy thriller movie “All The Old Knives”, starring Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton.
The movie follows Henry Pelham (Pine) investigating Celia (Thandiwe Newton), a past flame from their days as CIA intelligence officers in Vienna, who is now under suspicion of having been a double agent after a botched rescue operation victimizes over a hundred people.
The trailer depicted the head operative (played by Laurence Fishburne) pressuring Pelham into finding out who the CIA mole is before the story becomes a nightmare.
The movie is directed by Janus Metz from a screenplay by Olen Steinhauer, who adapted the plot from his best-selling novel first published in 2015.
"All the Old Knives" premieres in selected theaters in the United States and globally on Prime Video on the same date, April 8.
On the other hand, Pine will star in, direct, and produce the mystery-comedy movie “Poolman”.
He will play Darren Barrenman, a hapless dreamer who uncovers a larger-than-life corruption plot that, at best, may put his life in danger.
Annette Being and Danny DeVito will also star in the movie.
Pine has also co-scripted the movie with Ian Gotler, who is a partner at the actor’s production company Barry Linen Motion Pictures.
The “Wonder Woman” actor is set to produce the movie alongside Stacey Sher for Shiny Penny Productions, Patty Jenkins for Wicious Pictures, and Gotler.
“Poolman” marks the “Star Trek” actor’s feature directorial debut.
Pine is also set to star in “The Contractor”, a thriller with Kiefer Sutherland and Ben Foster.
He is also attached to the highly anticipated film adaptation of “Dungeons & Dragons”, which has wrapped filming and premieres in 2023.
Pine reprising his role as Captain Kirks in the 2023 sequel to “Star Trek“.
