All paintings by boxing legend Muhammad Ali were auctioned on Tuesday with total sum reached $ 945524, Sputnik reported on Wednesday.

The highest priced painting was one of the legend's drawings about boxing as it was sold at $ 425, 000. On the other hand, the most popular sold painting was "Sting Like a Bee" which reflected Ali's views in religion and social equality, in addition, the name of the panting is one of the most famous sayings by the boxer.

Moreover, his painting dedicated to US was estimated at $ 150,000, while his painting about his religious views was sold at $ 24,000.

Last week, Bonhams auction house announced selling a collection of original paintings by iconic boxer for bid estimation starting from $ 384,000.

All paintings reflected various milestones and phases in the late boxer’s life, in addition, they symbolized his passion to arts.

Ali’s also expressed and commented on several social and political issues through painting such as the oppression black people face in the American society, slavery, US overseas military activities, and wars.

The collection consists of 24 paintings, and it includes well known artworks such as “Sting Like a Bee,” and “Let My People Go” that dedicated to slavery.

His paintings were collected from the legend’s father collection, and the personal collection of Clay’s friend Rodney Hilton Brown, the author of “Muhammad Ali: The Untold Story: Painter, Poet, & Prophet.”

Therefore, several of them are a collaboration work between Ali and his father, as the father always asked for his sons help in the execution of his paintings.

Helen Hall, the responsible for pop cultural related auctions at the prestigious Bonhams, said: “Muhammad Ali was a cultural icon who defined a generation.”

She added: “His artwork depicts those subjects close to his heart: Boxing, Civil Rights, Religion and World Peace and Humanitarianism.”

“This sale presents buyers with an incredibly rare opportunity to acquire unique and meaningful artwork made by ‘The Greatest of All Time,” the director explained.

She concluded: “Ali is loved by so many people and we anticipate interest all over the world.”
