As part of the Ministry of Culture's initiative to showcase masterpieces of global classical music, the Cairo Opera House, headed by Dr. Ala’a Abdel Salam, will host a performance by the Alexandria Opera String Orchestra this week.
Under the baton of Maestro Sherif Mohie Eldin and featuring violin soloist Mohamed Abdel Raouf, the concert is scheduled for 8:00 PM on Friday, January 9, at the historic Sayed Darwish Theatre (Alexandria Opera House).
The Program: A Baroque Masterpiece
The evening’s program is dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi’s iconic concerto, The Four Seasons. Composed in 1723, this cornerstone of Baroque music is celebrated for its vivid musical storytelling. Through intricate melodies, Vivaldi captures the essence of the shifting seasons—from the gentle breezes of Spring to the intense storms of Summer, the harvests of Autumn, and the icy winds of Winter.
