Al-Sisi: We agreed with the President of Brazil on the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that the bilateral discussions he held with his Brazilian counterpart, Lula da Silva, discussed developing relations between the two countries.

President Sisi added during a joint press conference at the Federal Palace: “We agreed to develop relations between Egypt and Brazil in various political, economic, cultural, industrial and agricultural fields.

President Sisi announced the formation of a joint committee at the highest level between the two countries to coordinate cooperation frameworks and the goals that will be achieved through this committee, during the G20 summit, which will be held later in Brazil.

The President continued: “The bilateral discussions reflected the extent of the agreement between the two countries in various fields and also with regard to international issues, and we agreed on the importance of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and prisoners, and the entry of aid into the Strip in the largest possible amount in order to preserve the lives of civilians, leading to the launch of the post-war phase of For the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

At the end of his speech, President Sisi said: “I must record here that Brazil has recognized the Palestinian state. I welcome His Excellency the President and thank him for his presence in Egypt and for his political will to develop relations between the two countries in various fields.
