Egyptian writer Bahgat Al-Obeidi, founder of the International Federation of Egyptian Citizens Abroad, said that there are many aspects of the Egyptian soft power that should be considered and utilized according to their size and given the problems facing Egypt.

Al-Obeidi, who resides in Austria, said that the Egyptian soft power does not only confine to the ancient pharaonic civilization or the Coptic Church or the role of Al-Azhar in the world.

The Egyptian writer explained that Egyptian scientists are among the 'soft power' aspects of Egypt. "They actually precede every other level, if we can rank the soft power into levels," he said.

In specific, Al-Obeidi noted that the salon of the cultural surgeon, founded by the great Egyptian scientist Prof. Dr. Gamal Mostafa Said, professor of surgical oncology at Cairo University, with a global fame in the field of medicine, allowed him to take part but also chair international medical conferences in many European countries, a pride to Egypt.

He emphasized the importance of holding this salon outside Egypt on regular basis, for instance, every 3 months, where thinkers and scientists of Egypt in all fields meet the members of Egyptian communities abroad, as well as foreign peoples interested in Egyptian affairs.

He stressed the importance of adopting the Egyptian cultural centers abroad for the idea of holding this salon, in coordination with its founder Prof. Said on one side,  and government agencies in Egypt on the other side.
