Egyptian stars Karim Abdel Aziz and Yasmine Sabri's blockbuster film "Al Mashrue X" ("Project X") will be available for digital streaming next week.
The pic premiered in theaters and IMAX on May 21 and has grossed EGP 141 million, coming third in the highest-grossing films in the history of Egyptian cinema.
"Al Mashrue X" features an ensemble cast that includes Eyad Nassar, Mariam El Gendy, Essam El Sakka, Ahmed Ghozzi, and more. Hannah El Zahed and Maged El Kedwany will also make an appearance in the project.
Peter Mimi directed the film from a script he co-wrote with Ahmed Hosny. Synergy Plus is the studio behind the pic.
The film's official logline reads: "When a troubled archaeologist uncovers ancient secrets that could revolutionize the world’s energy supply, he becomes the target of a shadowy organization determined to keep the knowledge buried. In a race against time and powerful enemies, he must decide between revealing the truth and protecting his daughter from the deadly forces closing in on them."
"Al Mashrue X" witnesses the first collaboration between Sabri and Mimi and the third between Abdel Aziz and Mimi after the blockbuster film "Beit El Ruby" as well as the hit TV series “El Ekhteyar S1 & S2" and "Al-Hashashin".
The pic is one of the high-budget projects this year, with the shooting taking place in several countries, including Egypt, Turkey, Spain, and Italy.
"Al Mashrue X" is set to be released on digital streaming via Yango Play on September 4.
