The release date and first trailer for Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz's new film “Al Gareema” (The Crime), has finally been unveiled.
The film is set to debut in theaters on Wednesday, December 29.
It also stars Menna Shalaby, Maged El Kedwany, Ryad El Khouly, Sayed Ragab, Mohamed Goma, Nardine Farag, Nabil Eissa, Hajjaj Abdul Azim, Myrna Noureldin, and others.
“Al Gareema” is written and directed by Sherif Arafa.
Set in the 70s, the film revolves around a professional criminal (Ezz), who is hospitalized after suffering from hallucinations.
He escapes and commits several crimes for powerful people, however after getting involved in a major crime that leads him to confess to his previous ones and get into clashes with them.
“Al Gareema” marks the second cooperation between Ezz and Arafa after the 2019 war film “Al Mamar” (The Passage).

On the other hand, Ezz is teaming up with prominent director Sandra Nashaat in his new film “Akhuya” (My brother).
“Akhuya” (My brother) is a short film that sheds light on the important issue of bullying and the bonds within the family.
It marks Ezz’s first experience working on a short film and Nashaat’s comeback to the silver screen after 9 years of absence. It also witnesses the fifth collaboration between the pair.
They previously collaborated on the 2005 film “Mallaki Eskenderiya” (Alexandria Private), the 2006 film “El Rahina” (The Hostage), the 2008 film “Masgoun Transit” (Prisoner transport), and the 2012 film “Al-Maslaha” (The Deal).

Ezz will next appear in the highly-anticipated film “Kira & El Gin”.
The film also stars Karim Abdel Aziz, Ruby, Hend Sabry, Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Malek, Huda El Mufti, and others.
It is produced by Synergy films and based on the novel “1919” by Ahmed Mourad.
The film is an information-packed historical fiction set to the actual events of a significant era in Egypt’s history.
It also recounts the role of the Egyptian uprising against Britain’s occupation of Egypt, during the 1919 revolution, through the lives of perse characters that include famous and obscure historical figures as well as fictional characters.
Ezz was last seen in the film “El Aref”.
