Al-Azhar Condemns Attack on Religious Gathering of Children in Afghanistan

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif expressed its strong condemnation of the hateful terrorist attack that took place on Friday, in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan. The attack targeted a religious gathering and resulted in the deaths of at least 15 innocent children victims, and the injury of more than 20 others.

Al-Azhar declared its full solidarity with all victims of the terrorists that know no mercy. It stressed that targeting children reveals the falsity of the foundations of terrorist groups, their stripping of all the values ​​of mercy and humanity, and their enjoyment of violence, bloodshed, terrorizing the safe people and attacking the innocents.

Al-Azhar stressed that the religion is innocent of these groups, which did not take into consideration a child, a woman, or an elderly person, but cast terror and fear in their hearts.

On his part, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmad Al-Tayyeb offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and to the leadership and people of Afghanistan.
