Today, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, met the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, in the Al-Azhar.

Le Drian's visit meant to calm down the situation, after the wave of anger that swept the Arab and Islamic worlds over the insulting drawings of the Prophet Muhammad.

Imam al-Tayyeb said to the French Foreign Minister: "If you consider that insulting our Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) is a freedom of expression, then we reject it."

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar stressed his refusal to describe terrorism as "Islamic", adding: "We have neither the time nor the luxury to discuss such thing that we have no interest in."

He urged that "everyone should stop that immediately because it hurts the feelings of Muslims in the world."

Since, Macron previously stated, "a terrorist killed a citizen, because he was teaching students freedom of expression. This attack is part of Islamist terror."
