Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Khaled Al-Anany received on Thursday, Ms. Elena Panova, the UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt, at the ministry headquarters in Al-Abbasiya.
At the outset of the meeting, Al-Anany praised the strong and deep ties between Egypt and the UN at various levels, pointing out that the ministry is working directly with UN through UNESCO and World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and indirectly with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) through the Environment Ministry within the framework ‘Eco Egypt’ initiative that aims to support ecotourism, natural reserves and raise environmental awareness among citizens.
Moreover, they discussed ways to enhance ways of cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of tourism and antiquities via launching more initiatives and awareness campaigns.
On her part, Panova congratulated Anany on the success of the exceptional event of Pharaohs’ golden parade.
