Egyptian singer-actor Ahmed Saad was involved in a serious car accident on the Cairo/Ain Sokhna Road early Saturday.

"Apologies to all colleagues and media professionals for the current communication difficulties. Thank you for your great concern. Ahmed Saad will be alright, God willing, after his serious car accident," the superstar’s elder brother and fellow actor, Amr Saad, wrote in a Facebook post

He concluded the post asking for prayers for his brother.

Saad was on his way to perform a concert when the accident occurred. 

He was transferred to the hospital and underwent necessary medical tests.

The accident left Saad in the hospital with injuries to his back.

Born on August 20, 1981, the superstar is one of the foremost Arabic pop stars across the Middle East. 

This accolade is a testament to his enduring artistic journey spanning two decades, reaching its pinnacle in the past two years with the widespread acclaim of his hits across various music platforms.

He began his music career in 2003 with the release of his first album “Ashkey La Meen".

Saad is also known for his singles "Aleky Eyuoun," "El Melouk," "Kol Youm" "Ya Layaly," "Ader Akmel," and "Ekhtayaraty," "Wasa3 Wasa3".

He also performed several movie and TV series soundtracks.

Along with his singing career, Saad also embarked on an acting career, starring in several works including the 2011 TV series "We're the Students" and the 2017 film "Ala Wadaak.

He also played a fictionalized version of himself in multiple works including Season 6 of the comedy series "Al-Kabir Awy" as well as films "Abu Nasab", "Sukkar," and "Rocky El Ghalaba".
