Dr. Ahmed Muhyi Hamza, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Luxor University, has been officially appointed by the OMC ART World Organization for Art Competitions in Spain.
The appointment designates him as the President of the artistic events and visual arts competitions for Asia and the Arab world, representing the organization for a five-year term.

Hamza's distinguished career has garnered numerous local and international accolades, including the Arab Youth Union Medal for Arts in 1996, under the auspices of the Arab League and Sheikh Khalid Al-Qasimi, the Arab Minister of Youth and Sports.
He also received the top prize at the International Biennial of Ecuador in 2006 and the Grand Prize at the International Biennial of Culture and Arts in 2013.
Other honors include the Grand Prize at the Port Said Biennial in 2005 and a certificate of appreciation from the Triennial of Egypt for Graphic Arts in 1999.
Notably, he previously held the position of Director of Quality and established the internal quality system at the Faculty of Fine Arts from 2007 to 2010.
He also served as the Deputy of Higher Studies and Research from 2016 to 2022 and has been the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts since 2021.
As the Dean of Fine Arts in Luxor, Hamza achieved the first prize in the Graphic category at the Youth Salon twice in 1998 and 2003, and the second prize in 2000 and 2001. He was granted a scholarship by the Italian government for master's studies in 2000 and was recently awarded the Noble Medal by the Mayor of Sax, Alicante Province, in August 2022.
Representing Egypt, Hamza has been officially delegated by the Ministers of Higher Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports to numerous international forums in countries such as Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Canada, Japan, Sarajevo, Bangladesh, the United States, Austria, Armenia, Ecuador, Syria, the UAE, Qatar, and Morocco.
Additionally, he served as a member of the selection and adjudication committee for events like the Youth Salon in 2016, the National Contemporary Graphic Art Exhibition in 2016, the International South Salon in 2016, 2017, and 2018, and the Luxor African University Forum in 2022.
He also participated as a judge in the competition for Ocean Conservation in Moscow in 2020 and served as a committee member for the Golden Feather Award in Alicante, Spain, in August 2022.
Furthermore, he is a member of the State Awards for Creativity Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture and the committee for examining scientific production for the promotion of professors and assistant professors at the Supreme Council of Universities in 2022.
