Renowned actor Ahmed Mekky celebrated his 42nd birthday on Monday and received a large number of congratulatory messages on his official social media platforms.
Born in 1980, Meki is one of the most charismatic and adored actors of this generation. He is known for his acting chops and comedic personality.
Mekky began his career after graduating from the directing division at Cairo Higher Institute of Cinema.
He directed several films such as Yabanee Asly (An Original Japanese) and El Hassa El Sab'a (The Seventh Sense), which starred Ahmed El-Fishawy, in 2005.
Moreover, Mekky has collaborated with his sister Enas Mekky in directing several television productions, including Lahazat Hariga (Crucial Moments) and Tamer Wa Shaw'eyyah (Tamer and Shaweiyah) in which he also played the role of Haitham Dabour.
His magnificent performance in the "Morgan Ahmad Morgan" movie won much praise from Egyptian fans and critics alike.
He made his breakthrough with the Ramadan Egyptian comedy series El Kabeer Awy in which he plays both main characters, two brothers vying for the inheritance of their deceased father.
Mekky has also continued to write rap songs that he performs in films or uploads to the internet.
Apart from acting and singing, Mekky is fond of raising, and observing animals, as well as modifying genes to produce new species of animals.
Mekky married an Egyptian woman, with whom he has one son, Adham.
