Ahmed Malek's "Hani" to World Premiere at 2nd Hurghada Youth Film Festival

Egyptian actor Ahmed Malek's feature film "Hani" is set to world premiere at the 2nd edition of the Hurghada International Youth Film Festival, set to take place from September 19-25 in Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate, Egypt.

The pic is set to screen as a part of in the feature film competition.

The creative team also includes produced and directed by Mohamed Allam Starring and Camera Malek, Ahmed Tarek, Screenplay Abdelrahman Dnewar Executive Producer Bassem El Qassabi, Editor Adham Yehia, Sound Designer Samir Nabil, Sound unit Hesham Khaled, Stylist Gilan Hefny, Makeup Artist Reem Maghraby, and photography Sarah El-Rifai.

"Hani" takes place between 1997 and 1998, two years from his disappearance. 

Sahar discovers videotapes of her friend, Hani, and decides to watch them to get to know him better and get acquaintance with how her relationship with him was during that time.

Hani was a young man who almost finished his university studies, whose father works in Kuwait and lives with his family in Cairo.

He loves metal music and photography. His camera is always in his hand as he documents what is going on around him in his room.

The pic also follows Hani's friend Samir and their friend Sahar.

Founded in 2023, the Hurghada Youth Film Festival is an annual event organized by Funoon for Culture and Media Foundation.

It offers an exciting series of filmmaking workshops, before and during the festival. 

The sessions are delivered by experienced professionals and industry experts. It will cover a wide range of aspects of filmmaking.

The festival is also a declaration of love and fantasy movies. The film as a medium can make the audience dream, the filmmaker test special effects or to create a “Minimum Valuable Product” to finance their Feature Film.

The festival helps rediscover our planet’s different cultures through the wonder.

It promotes the world’s cultural and artistic varieties in a fun and magical way.

The event inspires the little one and grown up to enjoy movies, sciences, tech, and grow ecological awarness through specifics workshops, documentaries and features movies screening.
