Egyptian actor Ahmed Malek has landed his next lead movie role in the comedy film “Baset Lel Adalat."

Khaled Mansour directs the feature from a script he co-wrote with Mohamad El Husseini.

Khaled El Sawy and Michel Milad are also attached to star in the pic.

Egy Best

Malek made his last appearance on the big screen in the true story film "Egy Best," starring Salma Abu Deif.

Released in April, the film chronicles the story of the founders Egy Best, one of the most famous movie piracy websites in the Arab world.

It takes audiences on a deep journey into the world of digital piracy, through three childhood friends in Cairo's Al-Marg neighborhood, whose passion for cinema leads them to create the site, which achieves tremendous success but radically changes their lives and raises questions about the ethics and legal challenges of the digital age.

The logline reads:" Shawky, Saber, and Anwar, three childhood friends from a poor neighborhood with a passion for movies, launch a rogue streaming platform that explodes in popularity. But as fame and fortune arrive, they soon discover that escaping their reality may come with a dangerous price."

"Egy Best" also features famed rapper Marwan Pablo making his acting debut.

Mohamed Abdu, one of the founders of the band Black Theama, also starred in the pic.

It is written by Ahmed Hosny, directed by Marwan Abdel Moneim, and produced by The Planet Studios.

"Egy Best" marks the second collaboration between Malek and Abu Deif after the 2017 critically acclaimed film "Sheikh Jackson".

Born on September 29, 1995, Malek landed his first role in the 2005 TV series "Ayamna el helwa" (Our Good Days).

A few years later, he made his feature debut in the 2008 film "Mafish Fayda", starring Moustafa Amar and Basma.

Malek would later find international fame with roles in critically acclaimed films such as "Clash" (2016), "Sheikh Jackson" (2017), and "Leil Khargi" (2018) - all of which have been selected to represent Egypt in international film festivals and award circuits.
