Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz is teaming up with Jamaican-British director and producer Stephen Hopkins on the TV series "Al Amir" ("The Prince").
The drama is a six-episode action series positioned as an action-driven political thriller with additional focus on personal and family dimensions.
Principal photography is scheduled to launch on April 27 across Cairo and Riyadh.
"Al Amir" will be shot in Cairo with the production structured around a global-scale execution and in Saudi Arabia at the Al Hisn Big Time studios in Riyadh.
The project is being developed with an international team, with Ezz currently undergoing script rehearsals and intensive action training ahead of shooting.
It is co-produced by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and Sela Studios, with a focus on delivering complex action sequences.
"Al Amir" reunites Ezz with Amina Khalil after working together on the 2017 film "El Khaliyya".
Sammy Sheik, Tuba Büyüküstün, Meryem Uzerli, Pedro Alonso, and Paul Anderson round out the cast.
Created by Turki Al Shaikh and written by Salah El Gehiny, the story follows an Egyptian officer operating undercover within a network of international conflicts, assuming the identity of a high-profile wanted figure while attempting to prevent an imminent attack.
"Al Amir" marks Ezz's streaming debut and is set for release in 2027.
Ezz made his last onscreen appearance in the 2026 TV series "Ras Al Afaa," which premiered last month.
