Yassin, son of Egyptian actor Ahmed El Sakka and TV presenter Maha Al Sagheer, took to Instagram on Saturday in a bid for a solution to the travel restriction that prevented him from traveling to the United States and resuming his academic career.
He sent in a lengthy message to the United States administrative processing department, noting: "I have no other way but to let this out via social media, as this is the only platform that raises awareness and grabs the attention of people,".

"I’m a kid who grew up with a passion that’ll never die, despite what I’ve been going through for almost 2 years now. That passion was dramatic arts. In November 2019 I got accepted to @thenewschool where many of my idols studied. I had an amazing and successful semester in New York where I caused 0 issues," El Sakka noted.
He added: "At Christmas I was back in Egypt, spending time with my family. However, always having one goal, that’s to fulfill my 4 years of study, learning from the best,"
"On the 19th of January 2020, I was ready to go back to New York and I was extremely eager to continue my studies until suddenly they stopped me before entering the plane and the lady by the desk told me I have an issue that I have to check with my visa, so the plane went ahead and they flew without me," El Sakka pointed out.
He continued: "The following day I go to the embassy where three wonderful American men proceed to ask me questions, I answered with all honesty not knowing what the issue was still and then they allowed me to go home, after having my visa ‘cancelled without prejudice’,".
El Sakka noted that he was told to reapply and take a leave of absence, which he did, adding that the coronavirus pandemic then struck and he had to work online, thus he decided to take a gap year.
"Still not knowing what the issue is August 16th, 2021, I go back to the embassy with my appointment hoping for a smooth encounter, however, it was the opposite, my passport was sent to the administrative processing and to this day my passport is still at the administrative processing," El Sakka stated.
"I’m a kid with a dream and I’ve tried everything, if this can finally reach anyone who can fix this situation that is most certainly a misunderstanding. I know the USA is a country where justice is served," he noted.
El Sakka concluded the post by tagging his university "The new school" and "New school performing arts", calling for their help to return in spring and noted he has been working online, something that has been ongoing for too long, pointed out it is really affecting the future of one who has done no harm whatsoever.
