TV presenter Maha Al Sagheer, the wife of Egyptian actor Ahmed El Sakka, announced Thursday that she had tested positive for coronavirus.
In wake of the news, the actor's business manager, Mohamed Hassan, addressed the public's concern about El Sakka's health.
Hassan stated that the actor had tested for the virus following his wife's diagnosis — and got negative results.
He added that El Sakka was in good health and is filming his current projects, noting that his wife was the only infected.
Many celebrities have tested positive for the virus recently including screenwriter Tamer Habib and TV Presenter, Amr Adib his wife Lamis El Hadidy.
On Thursday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 840 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 390,294.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 21,882 nationwide after the ministry announced 19 deaths.
About 512 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 324,425.
